Some of our FAQ's

Q. How Do I Know If I Need A New Roof?

If your roof is older than 15 years and has not been maintained on a regular basis then it may be time to consider a new re-roof. Warning signs such as curling or missing shingles, discolored ceilings or walls are potential signs of a leak. Damage from a hail or hurricane storm could jeopordize your roof.

Q. I Am Selling My Home, Should I Replace My Roof First?

A home’s curb appeal has alot to due with the condition and aesthetic of the roof. If your roof is in bad shape your potential buyers will notice it immediately and most don't want to invest in a new home that have major repairs ahead of them.

In most cases, replacing your roof before you sell, will attract more buyers, increase property value to the point of recouping most, if not all, of the costs in the sale.

Q. Can A New Roof Be Installed Over Old Shingles?

The short answer is Yes. Certain conditions need to line up for this to even be possible. Can it save you on the installation cost? Yes, but in the long-term not really.

Choosing to install over existing roof eliminates the ability to inspect the health of your roof deck for rot or deterioration that can cause a huge problem in the future. If mositure is trapped under the old system it can affect the performance of your new system and also accelerate aging. Also any warranty is limited.

Q. I Received Several Estimates To Re-Roof My Home. Why Do The Prices Vary Greatly?

If you have an estimate that is considerably lower than the others, then beware. While below cost estimates may seem tempting to the pocket book, you are probably receiving an estimate from an uninsured, fly-by-night contractor, who performs substandard work. On the other estimates, you need to look to the details and do a comparison (apples to apples), what is included in the new re-roof and most definitely compare the labor and manufacturer warranties.

Q. What Will A New Roof System Cost?

The quality of the material is especially important as some roof types such as clay tile, slate and certain metal systems can last longer. Other factors are your local climate, roof structure, material sustainability, quality installation and adequate maintenance.
